ACC: "Couldn't Find Object [Object Name]" Error Message
ID: Q96589
|
The information in this article applies to:
-
Microsoft Access versions 1.0, 1.1, 2.0
SYMPTOMS
Moderate: Requires basic macro, coding, and interoperability skills.
You receive the following error message:
Couldn't Find Object [object name]
RESOLUTION
To troubleshoot the problem:
- First check to ensure that [object name] exists. It could be a
table, a query, or an SQL statement. If it does not exist, you must
remove all references to it from your application. Often, the
RecordSource property of a form or report will contain a reference to
an object whose name has changed or has been deleted.
- If [object name] exists, then it is likely that there is a syntax
or spelling error in the reference to it.
- You are trying to open an attached table, but the file containing the
table is not on the path you specified when you attached it. If you
moved the file, you can use the Attachment Manager in Microsoft Access
2.0 to update the attachment so that it points to the correct path.
