Q. On every page of the Adventure Works demo, I receive a JScript error
to the effect that the 'location' or 'element' object is not a property
of the frame. I cannot recreate the error on all computers. Systems
running the same operating system and browser are exhibiting different
behavior. Why?
A. This error is related to the installation of Internet Explorer. During
the installation, Internet Explorer Setup writes data to the Windows
registry that ultimately affects how scripts update frames on pages
such
as the administrative applications or starter store shopping pages.
However, if the user performing the installation is logged on with the
Guest account or another account that lacks permissions to write to the
registry, the settings supporting scripting may not be enabled.
Try to reinstall Internet Explorer using an account that has write
permission to the registry. If that does not solve the problem, you may
want to compare the versions of the Jscript.dll file on all the
computers.
