Microsoft SNA Server does not offer a configurable option to verify the old password in a host-initiated password change before executing the change. This field is ignored.
This functionality was not implemented in the release of Microsoft SNA Server version 3.0.
This fix checks the following registry entry
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services
\SnaPmp\Parameters\ValidateHostRequest : REG_DWORD: 1
where 1 = enabled and 0 = disabled. Then the Host must supply the old
password for the user to apply any changes.
The updated module is \Hostsec\(cpu)\Snafile.stf.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in SNA Server version 3.0. This problem was corrected in the latest Microsoft SNA Server 3.0 U.S. Service Pack. For information on obtaining the service pack, query on the following word in the Microsoft Knowledge Base (without the spaces):
