Cannot Restrict Data Entries to Numbers in Custom Data Form

Summary:

Custom data forms in Excel are limited to text boxes (Type 5) and edit boxes (Types 6-10). Types 7 and 8 are integer and number edit boxes, respectively. Therefore, you should be allowed to type only numbers in these boxes. However, typing text in these boxes is accepted and no error messages are displayed.

More Information:

In a dialog box that is run from a macro sheet, if you try to enter text into a number edit box, you will get an error message explaining that your entry is invalid. But, if you enter a custom data form onto your worksheet, no error message is displayed and the entry is accepted as valid.
