BUG: SQLMonitor Might Cause Access Violation As a Console AppID: Q116403
|
When both SQLServer and SQLMonitor are started from the command line, SQLMonitor might generate an access violation when an user tries to see the tape directory from SQL Administrator after a scheduled backup. This only happens if the user schedules backup for at least 3 hours later.
Start SQLMonitor and SQLServer as NT services rather than console applications.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in SQL Monitor version 4.21. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
