FIX: SQL 6.0 Upgrade Fails if SA Default DB is Not MasterID: Q135349
|
The Setup program ends with an error indicating that "DISK commands must be
run from the master database," and the upgrade does not complete if the
sa's default database is not master.
At the point of failure, the upgrade has completed everything except
installing the MSDB and creating the registry entries.
Upgrading to Microsoft SQL Server version 6.0 may fail if the default database for "SA" is not the master database.
Use the SQL Server version 6.0 Setup program to rebuild the registry:
setup /t RegistryRebuild = On
sp_defaultdb sa, master
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in SQL Server version 6.0 This problem has been corrected in U.S. Service Pack 3 for Microsoft SQL Server version 6.0. For more information, contact your primary support provider.
