SQL Server 6.5 Service Pack 1 is the first service pack available for Microsoft SQL Server 6.5. The latest service pack for SQL Server 6.5 is Service Pack 5a. SQL Server service pack fixes are cumulative. That is, SQL Server 6.5 Service Pack 5a contains all the fixes from Service Packs 1-5. Therefore, Microsoft recommends that you install and use the latest service pack available.
