INF: Windows Access to SQL Server on OS/2 LAN Manager
ID: Q67873
|
The information in this article applies to:
-
Microsoft SQL Server for OS/2, version 4.2
-
Microsoft SQL Server version 4.2x
Using Windows version 3.0 or 3.1 to access SQL Server requires networking
software with named pipe services via NETAPI.DLL on the DOS client
side only. The server can remain on an OS/2 LAN Manager version
2.0-based platform and you can upgrade DOS clients to DOS LAN
Manager Enhanced version 2.00 or greater. This provides named
pipes via NETAPI.DLL to Windows and enables full access to OS/2 LAN
Manager version 2.0-based servers.
This configuration provides DOS clients full access to SQL Server using
SQL Administrator, ISQL, DOS applications, and Windows applications.
DOS clients also gain complete access to OS/2 LAN Manager version 2.0
services.
