SUMMARY

When a chart is displayed in Microsoft Excel version 2.20, Copy Chart does not appear under the Edit menu as it did in previous versions. Instead, Copy appears, but it is grayed out, indicating that it cannot be selected.

To copy a chart in Excel, do one of the following:

Method 1

  1. Hold down the SHIFT key.

  2. From the Edit menu, choose Copy Picture.

  3. Select the method to copy (either As Displayed On Screen or As Printed to determine both the appearance and the size of the chart.)

Note: Copying a chart using Copy Picture is equivalent to using Copy Chart in earlier versions of Excel.

Method 2

  1. From the Chart menu, choose Select Chart.

  2. From the Edit menu, choose Copy.

Note: Copying the chart in this manner does not give you the option of basing the chart's size or appearance on the printed or displayed version. This method always copies the chart as it appears when displayed.

For more information on copying charts, see pages 207-208 in the "Microsoft Excel Reference" version 2.2 manual.
