If you attempt to run the Microsoft Excel Tutorial and Feature Guide from a network, you may receive the error message "Cannot Access CBT.XLW" if the network drive where Microsoft Excel is installed has read-only privileges.

When you start the Microsoft Excel Tutorial and Feature Guide, it attempts to create the workbook file CBT.XLW in the current directory, (the CBT.XLW file will be a workspace file if you are using Microsoft Excel version 3.0). If you don't have write privileges for the current directory, you will receive the above error message.

Workarounds

To work around this problem, do one of the following:


REFERENCES

"NETWORK.TXT" Microsoft Excel, version 4.0, located on the Setup disk (disk 1).

"EXCELINI.TXT" Microsoft Excel, version 4.0, located in the Excel directory after setup.
