Excel: {PRTSC} Does Not Work with ON.KEY or SEND.KEYSLast reviewed: November 30, 1994Article ID: Q77211 |
The information in this article applies to:
SUMMARYThe Microsoft Excel ON.KEY macro command runs a specified macro when a particular key or key combination is pressed. Page 166 of the "Microsoft Excel Function Reference" for version 3.0 includes {PRTSC} as a valid code for running a macro. This is incorrect. Attempting to use {PRTSC} will not work under Windows, OS/2 or on the Macintosh. The gray and white function and reference guide that is currently shipping with Excel for OS/2 does not include this error nor does the "Microsoft Excel Function Reference," version 4.0. Page 166 (version 3.0) and page 302 (version 4.0) also lists {CLEAR} as a valid code. However, this code is only available on the Macintosh.
