XL97: Cannot Make Changes to Some Shortcut MenusID: Q158434
|
In Microsoft Excel 97, when you run a Visual Basic for Applications macro that adds, removes, or modifies menu items on certain shortcut menus, the changes do not appear. The following shortcut menus are affected.
Shortcut menu xlConstant
--------------------------------
Button xlButton
Drawing object xlDrawingObject
Text box xlTextBox
In Microsoft Excel 97, you cannot make these changes to the xlButton, xlDrawingObject, and xlTextBox shortcut menus. However, if you run a macro that attempts to make such changes, the macro does not fail, and the changes do not appear on the appropriate shortcut menus.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.

http://www.microsoft.com/support/supportnet/refguide/In Microsoft Excel, when you click with the right mouse button (right- click) any type of object in a worksheet, chart sheet, or dialog sheet, a shortcut menu appears with commands (menu items) that apply to the selected object.
Sub AddCustom()
Application.ShortcutMenus(xlWorksheetCell).MenuItems.Add _
Caption:="C1"
End Sub
If you want to delete the same menu item, you would use the following code:
Sub DelCustom()
Application.ShortcutMenus(xlWorksheetCell).MenuItems("C1").Delete
End Sub
