SYMPTOMSUnder certain conditions, Visual Basic 5.0 may unexpectedly quit when retrieving data from a database for use with bound controls.
CAUSEThis is due to a problem in the VB5DB.DLL component that originally shipped with Visual Basic 5.0. The version of the component that ships with Visual Studio 97 Service Pack 2 resolves the problem.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a bug in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. This bug has been fixed in Visual Studio 97 Service Pack 2.
