SUMMARY

The use of InstallSHIELD to distribute and install Visual Basic applications is not supported by Microsoft Technical Support. Support must be obtained directly from InstallShield. The recommended and supported method of creating distribution media for Visual Basic applications is to use the Application Setup Wizard provided with Visual Basic.

MORE INFORMATION

Visual Studio includes a version of InstallSHIELD for the purpose of creating installation diskettes. Visual Basic provides its own tool for the same purpose; the Application Setup Wizard which is the tool supported by Microsoft Technical Support.
