Excel: Creating Command Underlined Items in Custom Data Form

Last reviewed: November 2, 1994

SUMMARY

When creating a custom Data Form, placing an & (ampersand) in front of a letter in the Text field of the Data Form definition table causes that letter to be displayed as underlined in the dialog box.

For example, "&Invoice" displays an underline under the "I" of the Invoice field within the custom Data Form. This command can then be selected by pressing COMMAND and the underlined letter ("I" in this case) within the Data Form.

To get "&" items to display as underlined, either use the menu quick key combination (/+D+O) to open the Data Form, or turn on Command Underline under Options Workspace.

For more information about creating a custom Data Form, see pages 163-166 of the "Microsoft Excel Reference" version 2.20 manual, or pages 365-368 of the "Microsoft Excel User's Guide" version 3.00 manual.
