Excel: Custom Data Form Not Inserting New Records in Database

SUMMARY

A Microsoft Excel custom data form created with the Dialog Editor will not insert new records into a database when the New button is used if the data form has not been set up correctly. It also will not extend the range of the database when records are entered, as a default form will.

This situation will occur if the database field names are not added to the Initial/Result column (column 7) of the dialog box definition table. The field names must be input into the same row as the edit boxes. Edit boxes are item numbers 6, 7, 8, 9, or 10 in the Item column (column 1) of the dialog box definition table.

The database field names are not automatically put into the dialog box definition table by the Dialog Editor.
