The information in this article applies to:
In Visual Workbench, holding down the SHIFT key while manipulating the cursor highlights text. The starting point of the highlight is called the anchor. If the PGUP (page-up) key is used while a highlight is being performed, the next keystroke after the PGUP causes the Visual Workbench to move the highlight anchor to the location where the PGUP ended.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a bug in the products listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this bug and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
This is not a problem in the 32-bit Visual Workbench, version 1.1.
To reproduce the problem, perform the following steps:
1. Bring up a lengthy source file, one that is a few pages long. You can
use some of the source files in the MFC\SRC directory.
2. Move the caret down, approximately to the middle of the file.
3. Hold down the SHIFT key to anchor the highlight.
4. While holding down the SHIFT key, press the UP ARROW key.
5. While still holding down the SHIFT key, press the PGUP key. Notice that
the highlighted area changes.
6. Still holding down the SHIFT key, press the UP ARROW key again. The area
previously highlighted loses its highlight.
