Excel: DBF Files Do Not Support Number LabelsID: Q77429
|
If a Microsoft Excel worksheet contains a database where the field labels
are numbers, and you save the document in DBF2, DBF3, or DBF4 file format,
when you reopen the document, the letter N appears in front of the numeric
labels, and the characters following the first character are deleted.
For example, if a field has a label of "123," after you save the file
in a DBF format, the field heading reads "N1".
This occurs because the DBF file formats only support text as labels
for each of the fields. DBF file formats do not support numbers as
labels.
