SUMMARY

Microsoft Excel for the Macintosh will launch in black and white and experience other display problems when used with the E-Machines TX Color Monitor on a Mac SE/30.

MORE INFORMATION

The E-Machines TX Color Monitor is a two-page monitor which is driven by an external monitor card. Microsoft Excel launches in black and white if the menu bar is configured to the external monitor, even though other applications are running in color (including Microsoft applications) and the monitor is set to run with 256 colors.

WORKAROUND

E-Machines, Inc. has confirmed the workaround for this problem is to reconfigure the TX Color Monitor's CDev (Control Panel Device) to show the menu bar on the SE/30's original screen.

The TX Color Monitor is manufactured by E-Machines, Inc. For further information, contact E-Machines Technical Support, (503) 626-5163.
