Excel: ECHO() Command Doesn't Suppress Menu Bar UpdatingLast reviewed: July 16, 1997Article ID: Q84655 |
The information in this article applies to:- Microsoft Excel for Windows, versions 2.x, 3.0, and 4.0
SUMMARYIn Microsoft Excel, the ECHO() command is used to suppress screen updates while a macro is running. If an ACTIVATE() command is used to switch between a worksheet and a chart while ECHO() is set to false, the menu bar will update although you will not see the newly activated file.
MORE INFORMATIONThe ECHO() command prevents a redraw of the main Microsoft Excel window's client area. The client area of a window is the area of the window that does not include the area of the borders, title bar, and menu bar. As a result, the ECHO() command will have no effect on the updating of the menu bar.
