Excel: EXEC() Function Is Compatible with System 6.0.xID: Q93412
|
Page xliv of the version 4.0 "Microsoft Excel Function Reference"
states that the EXEC() function is supported only by a Macintosh using
System 7.0 or later. This information is incorrect. The EXEC()
function is also compatible with Macintosh system software versions
6.0.x. However, if you are using a version 6.0.x of the Macintosh
system software you can use only the first argument in this function
(PROGRAM_TEXT).
Note: In order to use the EXEC() function, your Macintosh must be
running under MultiFinder.
For more information about using the EXEC() function with System
6.0.x, query on the following words in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
system and 6.0.x and MultiFinder and EXEC
"Microsoft Excel Function Reference," version 4.0, pages xliv and 138
