Excel: Header/Footer Font Names Must Match Format Font Name

SUMMARY

In Microsoft Excel, when you change the font in a header or footer from the standard font, the font name must exactly match the name given on the Format Font menu. Otherwise, the new font name will be ignored and the standard font, Geneva, will be used.

For example, the New Century Schoolbook Adobe font, which is available on the LaserWriter Plus and newer LaserWriters, is abbreviated as "New Century Schlbk" in the Format Font menu. If "Schoolbook" is spelled out, the change will not take effect. Another example is the Helvetica Narrow font, which must be accessed by using the name "N Helvetica Narrow."

For more information about formatting headers and footers, see pages 531-532 in the "Microsoft Excel User's Guide" version 3.0 manual. If you are using Excel 2.20, see pages 268-269 in the "Microsoft Excel Reference" version 2.2 manual.
