Excel: INPUT() Command Returns Incorrect Cell Reference

During macro execution in Microsoft Excel, if an =INPUT() dialog box is called to return a reference, an incorrect reference may appear in the dialog box when a cell is selected after the =INPUT() dialog appears on the screen. For example, when the =INPUT() dialog box appears, "=$B$4" may be returned when you select cell $A$20.

This problem can happen when =ECHO(FALSE) is entered in a cell on the macro sheet before the =INPUT() statement, causing screen updating to halt. Selecting items on the active sheet then forces the window to be scrolled, causing this error.

The =ECHO(FALSE) statement can also make it difficult, if not impossible, to determine which cells to select on a worksheet that needs to be redrawn.

To correct this problem, enter =ECHO(TRUE) directly before the INPUT() command, then turn off screen updating with the =ECHO(FALSE) command immediately following the =INPUT() statement.
