MCIWAVE driver allocates memory to buffer audio data during playback or recording. This article describes how to use the Control Panel to set the amount of memory allocated by MCIWAVE driver.
1. Run the Control Panel. 2. Double-click the Drivers icon. 3. Double-click (MCI) Sound in the Installed Drivers list. 4. Scroll the "Seconds" scroll bar to the right or to the left and
select a buffer that stores between 2 and 9 seconds of audio data, as
desired.
1. Run the Control Panel. 2. Double-click the Multimedia icon. 3. Click the Advanced tab. 4. Double-click Media Control Devices. 5. Double-click Wave Audio Device (Media Control). 6. Click the Settings button. 5. Scroll the "Seconds" scroll bar to the right or to the left and
select a buffer that stores between 2 and 9 seconds of audio data, as
desired.
In both systems, the default setting is 4 seconds.
