Messages similar to the following are displayed when you try to paste a Microsoft Draw object into a Microsoft Windows Write document:
ED: An error has occurred in your application. If you choose to
ignore, you should save your work in a new file. If you choose to
close, your application will terminate.
-and-
Application Error
ED caused a general protection fault in Module HPPCL5A.DRV at
0006:OE88
The first message gives you the option to Close or Ignore; however, the
Ignore option may not work correctly, and the message may repeatedly
display on the screen.
When you choose Close, a general protection (GP) fault error occurs.
These problem occur with many different printer drivers, including some Hewlett-Packard (HP) LaserJet II and III drivers, and IBM4019 and IBM4039 drivers.
To work around this problem, select a different printer in the Printer Setup dialog box of Microsoft Write.
Microsoft is researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
