1. Q. Windows has three modes: real, standard, and 386 enhanced. What
      are the system requirements for these modes?

   A. The system requirements for these modes are:

      a. Windows real mode requires an 8088 or higher processor with
         384K of free conventional RAM.

      b. Windows standard mode requires a 80286 or higher processor
         and 512K of available memory with at least 192K of that in
         extended memory. The Microsoft HIMEM.SYS driver from Windows
         3.0 or MS-DOS 5.0 must be loaded in the CONFIG.SYS file.

      c. Windows 386 enhanced mode requires a 80386 or higher
         processor. 386 enhanced mode requires 1 megabyte (MB) of free
         extended memory. The Microsoft HIMEM.SYS driver from Windows
         3.0 or MS-DOS 5.0 must be loaded in the CONFIG.SYS file.

2. Q. I have an XT-compatible computer. Can I run Windows 3.0 on my
      computer?

   A. Windows 3.0 is designed to run on PCs with 286, 386, or 486
      processors. Microsoft cannot guarantee that Windows will work
      properly on an XT-compatible computer. If you can get Windows
      running on your XT, you will be limited to using CGA graphics in
      black and white.
