Excel: PostScript Error Generated When Printing

SUMMARY

When you print from Microsoft Excel version 2.20 using Apple's LaserWriter printer driver version 6.0, 6.0.1, or 6.0.2, a PostScript error may be generated after all the pages have finished printing. This problem occurs only with certain types of Excel documents, and the problem will be reported only if one of the following is true:

  • A spooler is being used that has a PostScript error handler (such as the AppleShare Print Spooler software).
  • A PostScript error handler has been downloaded directly to the printer since the last time the printer was turned on.
  • The document was saved as a PostScript file from the Print dialog box (on the File menu) and then downloaded directly to the printer with a PostScript downloading utility (such as Adobe's SendPS utility).

Versions of the LaserWriter printer driver prior to 6.0 do not cause the problem, and version 6.1 of the printer driver corrects this problem.
