Excel: Saving to Non-Excel File Format Returns Save As DialogID: Q82121
|
In Microsoft Excel, if documents are saved to a foreign file format such as Text or the Lotus WK1 format, the Save As dialog box will be displayed when you choose Save from the File menu.
The Save As dialog box displayed when you choose the File Save dialog box
to remind you that the file is not in the Normal file format. This data
integrity feature is intended to ensure that changes made to a document are
saved in the appropriate file format.
Many of the formatting features in Microsoft Excel, such as graphic objects
(in versions 3.0 and later), and borders and shading, are not supported in
foreign file formats. As a result, certain formatting and other changes may
be lost when you save to these formats.
