Excel: Update Remote References Option is Unavailable

SUMMARY

In Microsoft Excel for the Macintosh, the Update Remote References option in the Calculation dialog box on the Options menu is available only under Apple Macintosh System 7.0. This option will be dimmed if the computer is running the Apple System software prior to version 7.0.

MORE INFORMATION

Remote references are dynamic data exchange (DDE) links to information from other applications. Macintosh Systems prior to 7.0 do not support DDE, so the Update Remote References option does not apply.
