Excel: Wrapping Category Text Labels in a Chart
ID: Q63031

The information in this article applies to:
-
Microsoft Excel for the Macintosh, versions 2.x, 3.0, 4.0
When entered in a cell, text in Microsoft Excel can be split to wrap
as desired when it is used as a category label in a chart.
When entering text in a worksheet cell, pressing CTRL+OPTION+M causes
a line break similar to a soft return. The result of this is displayed
in the formula bar but does not cause a line wrap in the worksheet.
However, when a chart is created, the text will print as it was
displayed when entered in the formula bar. This is especially useful
when a chart label will consist of more than one word.
NOTE: This feature is supported only on keyboards with a CTRL key.
