In Microsoft Excel version 7.0, when you call a function that exists in a Dynamic Link Library (.dll) file, the speed at which Microsoft Excel 7.0 recalculates data is slower than it is in Microsoft Excel 5.0.
This behavior occurs when you call a function from a registered .dll file and recalculate the values for formulas in the workbook.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
A dynamic-link library is a library of routines loaded into memory and linked to a program at run time. Dynamic-link libraries are usually created in a programming language such as C, and they contain procedures that you can call in your program.
