SYMPTOMSWhen you attempt to insert a Microsoft Excel worksheet into a Microsoft Word document by clicking Object on the Insert menu, you may receive one of the following error messages:
The server application, source file, or item cannot be found. Make sure the application is properly installed, and that it has not been deleted, moved, or renamed. -or- The action cannot be completed because Unknown is busy.If you click Retry, you may receive the following error in a Dr. Watson dialog box:
Access violation c0000005, 0x217134d in RPCSS.EXE CAUSEThis problem occurs if you load the following Microsoft Excel add-ins:
Analysis Toolpak - VBA Autosave RESOLUTIONTo work around this problem, use either of the following methods, depending on the version of Microsoft Office you are using.
Method 1 - Microsoft Office 95Make sure Microsoft Excel is running when you insert the Microsoft Excel worksheet object into the Microsoft Word document. NOTE: If you have problems starting Microsoft Excel after receiving one of the error messages listed in this article, save your work if necessary, shutdown, and then restart Microsoft Windows NT.
Method 2 - Microsoft Office 97Unload the Microsoft Excel add-ins mentioned in the "Cause" section. To do this, follow these steps:
