SUMMARY

The Windows NT 4.0 Hardware Compatibility List (HCL) lists the 3COM 3C900TPO as a supported device with drivers included in the Windows Download Library (WDL), but the WDL does not include these drivers.

This is a documentation error. The 3C900TPO network card driver is the same driver that is included for the 3C905 10/100MB Fast EtherLink XL network card on the Windows NT CD-ROM.

To load the driver, follow these steps:

  1. In Control Panel, double-click Network.

  2. On the Adapter tab, click the Have Disk button.

  3. Type the path to the <CDROM>:\<computer type>\Drvlib\netcard\x86\3c90x folder, where <CDROM> is the drive letter of the CD-ROM drive containing the Windows NT CD-ROM and <computer type> is the type of processor installed in the computer.

  4. Click OK.

  5. Click the "3Com Fast EtherLink XL Adapter (3C905)" option, and then click OK.
