In Windows NT, if you change the font size of a minimized full-screen Windows NT command prompt (CMD.EXE), when you reopen the full-screen command prompt, the screen may not redraw correctly.
To correct these screen problems without having to restart the command prompt, press ALT+ENTER to place the command prompt in a window and then press ALT+ENTER to restore it to full screen. This causes the screen to redraw correctly.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Windows NT version 3.1 and Windows NT Advanced Server version 3.1. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
1. In the Main group, open a command prompt.
2. From the Control menu, choose Settings.
3. In the Display Options box, choose Full Screen, then choose OK.
4. When the Windows NT command prompt takes up the full screen, press
CTRL+ESC to minimize it and bring up the Task List.
   minimized MS-DOS (command prompt) icon.
NOTE: Other font sizes may cause this problem as well.
8. Double-click the mouse to open the command prompt icon with
   full-screen display.
