The information in this article applies to:
In Microsoft Query, version 2.0, if you execute an action by using the SQL dialog box, the action query will execute successfully, but you may receive an "Out of Memory" error message.
NOTE: An action query is a query that updates a table or database using SQL commands, such as INSERT, UPDATE, and DELETE.
To workaround this problem, execute the action query using the Execute SQL command on the File menu in a query. To do this, follow these steps:
1. On the File menu, click Execute SQL.
2. In the Execute SQL dialog box, click the Data Sources button to select a
data source for the action query.
3. Type the SQL Statement, and then click Execute.
You should receive a message indicating whether or not the query executed successfully.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the products listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
