SUMMARY

To select multiple noncontiguous areas of a record (e.g. to perform a multiple key sort), you need to use the SHIFT+F8 key combination to add to the first selection.

The following example demonstrates the keystrokes needed to sort the employee file with exempt status as the primary or first key and salary as the secondary key:

  1. Tab to the exempt field.

  2. Press SHIFT+F8.

  3. Press SHIFT+TAB to move left in the same record to salary.

  4. Choose Sort Ascending or Descending.
