  • Microsoft Windows NT Advanced Server version 3.1

The following two error messages may appear in Event Viewer due to problems with the Microsoft Client Service for Netware.

The System Cannot Find the File Specified

The NWLinksys services fail to start which, in turn, keeps NWLink from starting. This was caused because the NWLink IPX/SPX Compatible Transport protocol was not installed properly. Use the Network section of Control Panel to reinstall NWLink.

-OR-

The Client Service for Netware terminates. This may be due to a bad installation of the Client Service. Use the Network section of Control Panel to remove and reinstall the Client Service. Be sure to restart your computer between removing and reinstalling the Client Service.

Error Binding to Adapter Card Adapter Card Name

Your network adapter may be malfunctioning, or its settings may be incorrect. If your adapter is not malfunctioning, use the Network section of Control Panel to verify the adapter settings. The correct adapter may not be bound to NWLink, or the adapter may be bound to an ODI driver if NetWare Services for Windows NT was previously installed on your computer. If this is the case, you must unbind the adapter from the ODI driver and bind it to the NDIS driver.
