The information in this article applies to:
SYMPTOMSWhen displaying an NTFS or HPFS directory listing on a Windows NT Advanced Server across a network from a non-Windows NT computer, one with Windows for Workgroups installed for example, if any of the filenames contain umlauts, all of the files in the directory may not be listed. This problem does not occur on a FAT partition.
Steps to Reproduce Problem
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Windows NT and Windows NT Advanced Server version 3.1. This problem was corrected in the latest U.S. Service Pack for Windows NT and Windows NT Advanced Server version 3.1.
