OFF97: Inserting MS Excel Object Causes ErrorsID: Q178305

When you insert a Microsoft Excel object into another program, you may receive an error similar to one of the following error messages:
-or-Dr. Watson for Windows NT
An application error has occurred and an application error log is being generated.

Exception:access violation(0xc0000005), Address: 0x0212134d
Or, you may receive the following error message when you try to insert a Microsoft Excel worksheet into a WordPad document:The server application, source file, or item cannot be found. Make sure the application is properly installed, and that it has not been deleted, moved or renamed.
Failed to create object. Make sure that the object is entered in the system registry.
This problem occurs when the following conditions are true:
To work around this problem, use one of the following methods.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products
listed at the beginning of this article.
If you receive the error messages in this article under Windows NT 3.51,
click OK or Retry in the error message dialog box to successfully continue
inserting the object.
