SUMMARY
When you create an embedded chart in Microsoft Excel, you can paste link
the chart to a Microsoft Word for Windows document. It isn't necessary to
create a separate chart file to do this.
MORE INFORMATION
To paste link the embedded chart into Word for Windows, do the
following:
- Double click the embedded chart object to activate the chart.
- In Microsoft Excel versions 3.0 and 4.0, choose Select from the Chart
menu.
- In Microsoft Excel versions 4.0 and 5.0, choose Copy from the Edit menu.
In Microsoft Excel version 3.0, hold down the SHIFT key and choose Copy
Picture from the Edit menu. Select the desired options, and choose OK.
- Start Microsoft Word for Windows, and choose Paste Special from the Edit
menu.
- In Microsoft Word for Windows version 6.0, select Picture from the As
list. Select the Paste Link option, and choose OK.
In Microsoft Word for Windows version 2.x, select Picture from the Data
Type list, and choose the Paste Link button.
NOTE: this method only works if the worksheet is open in Microsoft Excel
when you update the linked chart in Word for Windows. If you double click
the chart in Word and Microsoft Excel is not running, nothing happens.
