After you export data from Microsoft Access version 2.0 to a Microsoft Excel version 5.0 workbook by using the TransferSpreadsheet macro command or the Export command on the File menu, you may receive the following error message
Cannot do that command on nonadjacent cells
while working in Microsoft Excel 5.0 or 7.0. This will only happen if you
have exported data from Microsoft Access 2.0 to the same Microsoft Excel
5.0 workbook more than once. You will receive the error message if you try
to manipulate the workbook in the following ways:
In Microsoft Excel 5.0, you may also receive the following error message
not enough memory
if you attempt to delete extra sheets in the workbook one at a time. This
will only happen if you exported the data from Microsoft Access 2.0 to an
existing Microsoft Excel 5.0 workbook that contained worksheets not
exported from Microsoft Access. However, if you group the extra sheets
together, you will then be able to delete them.
To work around this problem, follow these steps:
1. Export the data to a Microsoft Excel version 4.0 worksheet, and then
transfer the individual worksheets to a Microsoft Excel workbook.
2. Use the Move Or Copy Sheet command on the Edit menu to move the
sheets, one at a time, to a new workbook.
3. Group the sheets together (hold down the SHIFT key and select the
sheets by clicking the Sheet tab). You will then be able to insert,
copy, paste, and print preview the sheets.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Access version 2.0. This problem no longer occurs in Microsoft Access for Windows 95 version 7.0.
For more information about the TransferSpreadsheet macro action, search for "Transfer Spreadsheet," and then "TransferSpreadsheet Action" using the Microsoft Access 2.0 Help menu.
