The information in this article applies to:
SYMPTOMSThere is no audio output when you play an audio CD from CD Player or Media Player within Windows NT when using a CD-ROM drive connected to a Media Vision Pro AudioSpectrum 16 sound card.
CAUSEUse of the audio cable from the audio out port on the back of the CD-ROM drive to J5 (internal audio CD-ROM connector) on the Pro AudioSpectrum 16 was not supported with the initial release of Windows NT.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Windows NT and Windows NT Advanced Server version 3.1. This problem was corrected in the latest U.S. Service Pack for Windows NT and Windows NT Advanced Server version 3.1. For information on obtaining the Service Pack, query on the following word in the Microsoft Knowledge Base (without the spaces):
S E R V P A C KMedia Vision has extracted the driver file MVAUDIO.SYS from the Service Pack and made it available to download from their BBS at (510) 770-0968.
