Print Job Doesn't Print Until You Quit DOS Application

SYMPTOMS

When you print from some MS-DOS-based applications to a locally connected printer, the print job gets in the print queue but doesn't print until after you quit the application.

The size of the print job is shown as 0 bytes until the application quits.

This problem still occurs even if you change the value of LPT_timeout in the Registry.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Windows NT and Windows NT Advanced Server version 3.1. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
