The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Excel for Windows, versions 2.x, 3.0, 4.0
  • Microsoft Excel for OS/2, versions 2.2, 3.0

SUMMARY

Text attached to data points on line charts and scatter charts always appears to the right of the data points. There is currently no way to place attached text in any other position with respect to a data point.

NOTE: This problem does not occur in later versions of Microsoft Excel.

WORKAROUND

A workaround is to use unattached text and position the text manually.

This feature is under review and will be considered for inclusion in a future release.
