Using a Mouse to Enter References into a Custom Dialog BoxID: Q74267
|
Entering cell references in a custom dialog box with a mouse requires a movable dialog box. In version 3.0 and 4.0 this is done by typing a title in the first row of the text column in the dialog box definition table. In version 5.0, using Visual Basic for Applications, dialog boxes are moveable regardless of whether they have a title.
A Reference Edit box allows references to be entered into the dialog box.
Cell references are manually entered by typing directly into the edit box.
After clicking the Reference Edit box, nothing can be selected outside of
the dialog box if the dialog is not movable.
By making the dialog box movable, cells on the worksheet can be selected.
After clicking the Reference Edit box, you can then manually select the
desired range of cells with your mouse. Menus and cells in nonactive
documents can also be chosen if you want to enter information into the
dialog box.
To create a movable custom dialog box, type a title in the first row of the
text column in the dialog box definition table. This is the sixth column.
The title will then appear in the title bar of your dialog box, which can
then be used to move the dialog box.
