Windows NT Does Not Support More Than One Floppy Controller

Microsoft Windows NT does not support more than one floppy controller in a system.

Although the floppy driver, FLOPPY.SYS, in Windows NT and Windows NT Advanced Server was written to support more that one floppy controller, NTDETECT only checks the BIOS to determine how many floppy drives are present. The BIOS in most IBM and IBM-compatible computers doesn’t support more than one controller with two floppy drives connected; therefore, NTDETECT will not see a second controller.
