SYMPTOMS

When you run File and Print Services for NetWare (FPNW), you may encounter a STOP screen with the following parameters:

   STOP 0x0000001E (0xc0000005, f5c3ed03, 00000000, 00000104)

NOTE: The second and forth parameters may vary.

CAUSE

This problem occurs when Windows NT attempts to close an invalid connection.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain the following fix or wait for the next Windows NT service pack.

This fix should have the following time stamp:

   01/05/98  06:17p               437,904 Fpnwsrv.sys (Alpha)
   01/05/98  06:21p               222,880 Fpnwsrv.sys (Intel)

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in File and Print Services for NetWare 4.0. A supported fix is now available, but has not been fully regression-tested and should be applied only to systems experiencing this specific problem. Unless you are severely impacted by this specific problem, Microsoft recommends that you wait for the next Service Pack that contains this fix. Contact Microsoft Technical Support for more information.
