"Invalid Page Fault" in Files with Many OLE ObjectsLast reviewed: February 6, 1998Article ID: Q134724 |
The information in this article applies to:
SYMPTOMSIf you do not have much disk space available and then try to save a file that contains OLE objects, you may receive the following error message:
WINWORD.EXE caused an invalid page fault in MSo95.DLL-or-
The disk is full or too many files are open.-or-
Invalid Page Fault in module OLE32.DLL-or- When you try to save the file, the status bar indicates that 100% of the file is saved, but the file is not actually saved to the disk. You may receive a message indicating that the disk is full when further changes are made to the file or the file is re-saved. If you encounter these problems while you are running Windows 95, Windows may prompt you to empty the Recycle Bin to free some disk space. These problems are more likely to occur when you save the file to a floppy disk.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed these to be problems in Microsoft Word for Windows 95 version 7.0. Microsoft is researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
WORKAROUNDTo work around these problems, eliminate some of the OLE objects from the file, or free some disk space before you save the file.
