Accent Bar and Callout Line Not Resized with Callout

The information in this article applies to:

• Microsoft Word for Windows, version 6.0

SYMPTOMS

If you use the ruler to resize a callout in the Word for Windows drawing layer, the callout line (arrow) and accent bar do not move with the callout. By contrast, if you resize the callout using the sizing handles, the callout line and accent bar move correctly with the callout.

STATUS

We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.

WORKAROUND

Do not use the ruler to resize callouts. Use one of the following methods instead:

• Drag any handle on the drawing object.

  -or-

• Use the Drawing Object command on the Format menu.

  -or-

• Choose the Format Callout button on the Drawing toolbar.
