SUMMARY

A Setup program installs text converters, graphic filters, and Word for MS-DOS glossary files found on the Microsoft Word 6.0 for Windows Supplemental File Conversion Disks. The first time you run Setup, an SC_SETUP.STF file is created in the Word 6.0 for Windows program directory (for example, C:\WINWORD). If you run the Supplemental Conversion Setup program again, the SC_SETUP.STF file puts the Setup program into a maintenance mode that allows you to add or remove supplemental conversion files.

If the supplemental conversion files aren't being installed properly after following the usual setup procedures, delete the SC_SETUP.STF file in the Word 6.0 for Windows program directory. Also, delete old or damaged text converters, graphic filters, and/or Word for MS-DOS glossary files, then run the Supplemental File Conversion Disk Setup program again.

MORE INFORMATION:

Supplemental text converters are stored in the C:\WINDOWS\MSAPPS\TEXTCONV directory (where C:\WINDOWS is the location of your Windows program directory) and the Word 6.0 program directory (for example, C:\WINWORD).

Supplemental graphic filters are stored in the C:\WINDOWS\MSAPPS\GRPHFLT directory (where C:\WINDOWS is the location of your Windows program directory).

Supplemental Word for MS-DOS glossary files are stored in the TEMPLATE subdirectory of the Word 6.0 program directory (for example, the C:\WINWORD\TEMPLATE directory).

1. Start Microsoft Windows. 2. Insert the Setup Disk in drive A (or the appropriate floppy disk drive). 3. From Program Manager, choose Run from the File menu. 4. Type "a:\setup" (without the quotation marks) and choose OK.
